Make yourself at home.

  1. Download and open the Clippy disk image (.dmg).
  2. Drag Clippy into your Applications folder, then eject the disk image.
  3. Open Clippy from Applications and confirm the macOS prompt to open the downloaded app.
  4. Follow Clippy’s setup to enable capture and allow clipboard access if macOS asks.
  5. Copy something, then press Command–Shift–V to open your history.

A few things to know

You’ll need macOS 26 or later. Clippy’s universal build includes Apple silicon and Intel binaries.

The direct-download edition does not install updates automatically. Choose Check for Updates in Clippy’s menu or Settings, or enable automatic checks in Settings. You choose when to download and install each update.

Already using version 1.0? Install this download once to get in-app updates for future releases. Your history and settings from the official direct-download edition stay in place.

If you used an earlier local development build, its clipboard history is kept separately and is not migrated automatically. Keep that build if you still need those saved clips.
